Presentation

After thirty years of research and development, rewritable and communicating electronic paper (e-paper) is a reality and numerous applications are now available: interactive newspapers, portable digital libraries, display.

Ganaxa, e-paper systems architect and operator, was created specifically to help companies develop, deploy and integrate this revolutionary new technology.

Ganaxa’s activities include audit and management of e-paper projects, provision and/or hosting of content management and diffusion systems, content production and deployment support services, development and distribution of displays and reading devices, as well as delegation of publication editing. Thus, after a year of R&D, Ganaxa is proposing its first platform, GPP (Ganaxa Publishing Platform), for the press, publishers and advertisers, integrating tools for creation, production, diffusion, consultation and display (using an open format, GPF: Ganaxa Publishing Format, which takes advantage of electronic ink, and of which Ganaxa will publish the basic specifications).

Platforms designed and implemented by Ganaxa are always specifically adapted (including devices, inks or substrates) to strong editorial projects (e.g. Les Echos) or to applications that would be difficult to imagine with conventional media (e.g. “pre-printed” maps for underwater divers).

Ganaxa’s philosophy is medium centric (vs computer centric). Our architectures are centred on the medium (memory card or electronic paper itself), not on the PC or the Internet, even though creation, production or diffusion processes may take advantage of them.
